Bus to Loro Park

The world-famous zoo "Loro Park" is located in the city of Puerto de la Cruz, away from the most popular tourist resorts in the south of the island.

This article contains practical information on how to get to Loro Park from different parts of the island of Tenerife.

How to get to Loro Park from the south of Tenerife?

Bus to Loro Park from Los Cristianos, Playa de las Americas, Costa Adeje, Los Gigantes, La Arena and other southern resort towns.

  • Transfer

The duration of the trip in one direction is approximately 90 minutes + time until all guests are "collected" from the hotels.

The return trip from Loro Park is at 16.30 or 17.00 depending on the season.

Transfers must be booked a day in advance at the latest – again, a note about the season: if there are a lot of travellers, be sure to schedule this in advance.

Two types of transfers are available: normal and express. The difference is that the express transfer has fewer stops, so you get to the park earlier (as well as on the way back, the same stops). The price difference is €1.

There is also a transfer bus from Los Gigantes (Puerto de Santiago) - La Arena - Isora, and Playa Paraiso.
  • Public transport

The bus is an option to go to Loro Park, for example, bus 343 from Los Cristianos to Puerto de la Cruz departs on weekdays at 8:25, spends more than 2 hours on the road, and will pay 15 euros one way. However, the public bus is quite expensive, and you still must get to Loro Park from Puerto de la Cruz Bus Station.

  • Taxi

If there is a larger company, you can consider hiring a taxi or a bus that will take you to Loro Park. It is advisable to be there as early as possible, then you will be able to enjoy the park more easily and devote time to the shows as well. The costs are not low - it will cost 100€ in one direction (for a group of 4-7 people, a larger one will cost more than 110€), additional information can be found on the KiwiTaxi page.

  • Rental car

For those who choose to rent a car and plan to drive to Loro Parque, parking is available on-site for €7 per day. Alternatively, you can try to find a free parking space near the park, but ensure it is a legal parking spot. Don’t assume it’s safe to park somewhere just because others have; this won’t protect you if there are issues.

  • Free train

A train departs from Plaza de los Reyes Católicos (McDonald's) to Loro Park every ~ 15 minutes, which will take you there and back for free.

The first train leaves at 9:30 a.m

During the high season, when the number of travelers is higher, you may have to stand in line longer. The train (on wheels) does not stop anywhere, the only stop is the final stop Loro Park.
